Sunergos Coffee

If you're in Louisville and not drinking Sunergos Coffee, you're wrong.  Fact.
After my initial discovery of this glorious coffee establishment last spring, it instantly became my "Mecca of java" among Louisville's vast coffeehouse landscape.  The simple, yet eclectic atmosphere inside their Preston St. location is amazing.  Pair this with a friendly staff of baristas/the best coffee you'll ever taste and you've got a recipe for success.  As they put it:

"Our work in coffee grew out of an enjoyment of it, and a desire to be intimately acquainted with the processes that result in an exceptional cup.  Before we were a roastery, we were home roasters, learning the craft of coffee in the company of our families and friends.  With the purchase of our first roaster, and the formation of Sunergos Coffee, roasting naturally became central to our business.  Throughout the life of Sunergos we have enjoyed participating in a diverse community of people who regularly come together around coffee.  Out of the fabric of this daily coffee community, people have emerged to join us in our work, enriching and being enriched through working together.  The work of Sunergos continues to grow as each person engages their craft, from the roastery to the espresso bar."

Make sure to try the Sulawesi if you can (my personal favorite).

My Next Running Shoes

Why?  UK Gear's PT-1000 running shoes don’t look like anything special — at least until you notice the presence of the crown and sword logo, which signifies the British Military’s seal of approval. See, unlike your current trainers, a pair of PT-1000s are guaranteed to last for up to 1,000 miles of wear. The secret behind this feat is still, well, a secret. All we know is that these shoes required over eight years of research in conjunction with the Royal Army Physical Training Corps, and make use of “proprietary compounds and materials” to reduce wear and tear.  ($130)

Look at You

“Look at you. You’re young. And you’re scared. Why are you so scared? Stop being paralyzed. Stop swallowing your words. Stop caring what other people think. Wear what you want. Say what you want. Listen to the music you want to listen to. Play it loud as heck and dance to it. Go out for a drive at midnight and forget that you have school the next day. Stop waiting for Friday. Live now. Do it now. Take risks. Tell secrets. This life is yours. When are you going to realize that you can do whatever you want?”

Flip It Good

Go Bruins

Even though I was rooting for the Canucks in these recent Stanley Cup playoffs, Boston deserves some recognition ... in the form of this commercial:

Another Earth (2011)

Another Earth will be in theaters this summer, and I can't wait.  There are very few movie trailers out there that get me unbelievably hyped for the premiere, but this is one of them.  If the other you ever came up to you in public, what questions would you ask them for proof that it was actually you (questions you alone know the answers to)?
The wonderful song in the background is "That Home" by Cinematic Orchestra.

Morning Coffee

I prefer "wish" instead of "want" ... still my favorite quote though:

"Space to Share" by: Scapegoat Wax (from the Lone Star State of Mind soundtrack)

Thought Catalog

If you haven't checked out Thought Catalog yet, you really should.  Much like this blog, there is a little something there for everyone.  I would especially recommend any article by Kat George, as she is a fantastic writer.

Got Heeeem!

"Sorry, uh, Papa is feeling pretty delicious right now."  This is hilarious, regardless of whether or not you like baseball or the Giants:

Kudos go out to my friend, Adam H., for showing me this.

Coleman Propane Coffee Maker

"Roughin' it" just got a little nicer with the Coleman Propane Coffee Maker ($90).  Thanks to one of my favorite blogs, Gear Patrol, for bringing this to my attention.  It just happens to look and operate like most home java makers, which can reassure less savvy campers worried about missing their fix. Unlike other alternatives, this brewer can also produce a full 10 cups in one use — making it ideal for bigger groups or a few serious addicts. In terms of power, its standard 16.4 oz propane cylinder is good for roughly 15 pots and easily lights using the included auto ignition button. One 10 cup pot takes around 18 minutes to brew, or roughly a quarter of the time it’ll take you to start feeling chipper after sharing a tent your unshowered buddy.

Finding Forrester (2000)

Sean Connery at his best ... this movie also gave me a new outlook on socks:

See IMDB for more about this great flick.

Inspire to Run

Here's a great blog for any aspiring runners out there like myself:
Inspire to Run

"If I Had My Life to Live Over" by: Nadine Stair

If I had my life to live over, I'd dare to make more mistakes next time. I'd relax. I would limber up. I would be sillier than I have been this trip. I would take fewer things seriously. I would take more chances. I would take more trips. I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers. I would eat more ice cream and less beans. I would perhaps have more actual troubles, but I'd have fewer imaginary ones.

You see, I'm one of those people who live sensibly and sanely hour after hour, day after day. Oh, I've had my moments and if I had it to do over again, I'd have more of them. In fact, I'd try to have nothing else. Just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead of each day. I've been one of those persons who never goes anywhere without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a raincoat, and a parachute. If I had to do it again, I would travel lighter than I have.

If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds. I would pick more daisies.
